My older son, Marcus, rushes out the door to graduate school in the mornings, taking along some wholesome sustenance in the form of this smoothie. The secret is to use a high powered blender to make a “smoothie” that tastes more like fruit than vegetables. It has a pleasing texture, is satisfying, and packed with nutrition. - Pam
Ingredients
5 strawberries, leaves and stems removed G cup (38 g) fresh whole blueberries ½ ripe avocado, peeled and pit removed ½ cup (75 g) ripe banana 4 florets of broccoli ½ cup (120 mL) water
Instructions
1. Blend together all ingredients in a high-speed blender until a smooth consistency is reached
Yield
1½ cup (360 mL) smoothie
